Restaurant open on Christmas day in Milan?
I work in the travel industry and have just found out I'll be arriving in Milan early afternoon on Christmas day then working early (6am) the next morning. Where can I and my colleagues get a decent meal in the early evening evening time? I understand many restaurants close or only open at 19.30-20.00.
Hope we don't have to stick with the hotel restaurant for Christmas day!
Thanks

I doubt you can get a decent dinner any earlier than 8pm, even at a hotel restaurant. But don't be too quick to dismiss hotel restaurants in Italy. They are often among the best restaurants in town.
If you don't want your restaurant, or if you want to eat earlier than 8pm, ask the hotel where you can go nearby. Sometimes neighborhood bars have enormous spreads of food or excellent bar menus. One trick I've employed in Italian cities on religious holidays is to head for non-Italian restaurants. In Milano, sushi can be a good bet, and some sushi bars serve all the sushi you want during the cocktail hour.

Thanks Zeppole - isn't it weird when I read your reply I didn't even notice the missing word - my brain put "hotel's" in there anyway ;-)
We may just be the first customer's right at 8pm! Otherwise the sushi idea is great too!
