Rental car with driver in Ireland

We would like to rent a car with driver for an itinerary of our choice in Ireland. Probably mid June. Has anyone done this?

A lot of peoole have don this.

Butyou need to clarify -

You can't rent a car and then hire a driver.

A driver will come with his own vehicle - size depending on how many there are in your party. And you will have to pay his fees, expenses and meals and lodging costs.

Also - you need to clarify if you just want someone to drive you around - or if you are also expecting someone to be a guide - which would be more expensive.

If you search below you will find info from people who have done this - once you figure out what you want

It's less personal, but this is a small group tour for various sights in Ireland.

www.rabbies.com It's been recommended umpteen times on Fodors.

thanks. I don't know how to go about finding where to hire a driver before we leave the US. Do I go to a car rental place. I was hoping to hire a local with a car and we would just tell him/her where to go and what pace.

I looked into rabbies and found that very useful. That may be the way to go. I've asked for information.

also see Vagabond tours. I meet all these tour vehicles when I am trading at Sneem and get to know the drivers etc. And chat with the passengers at the stall. small group .

Am consistently impressed with Vagabond more than eg Paddywagon.

google the need; most advertise online now .
