Red Sox fan in Paris

I'm a Red Sox fan traveling to Paris tomorrow - and wonder if anyone might know of a place to catch a game?

Katina...as a member of the Red Sox Nation you are entitled to watch Friday night's game in your hotel room...proably will be covered by ESPN or CNN, maybe even on direct feed.
Only problem, 7:30 game will be on at 1:30 a.m. if live. Don't know of any other place in Paris that would be open or would be showing the game unless the players are kicking the ball into a net!
Go Sox..

as far as I know the AL series will be carried by Fox and the NL series by TBS. Not likely that either one will be on your hotel cable service.

Plus w/ the scheduled 7 and 8 p.m. starts, local time Paris will be 1 and 2 a.m. CNN/ESPN will have mid and post-game highlights though.

We'll be in France during the entire ALCS also! Even though we're Red Sox fans, I think there are better things for us to see and do in the Loire Valley and Paris than watching the ALCS. Hopefully the Red Sox will make it to the World Series - we'll be back by then!

I have sort of the same problem - we will be in Cairo the night the Redskins beat Dallas (Dec 31). I am hoping that there will be an American cultural center or something where we will be able to catch the game. When I used to live abroad there was always something, or some people who had the game on. But, some kind of Americans abroad center would be your best bet. Or, check with the Embassy - they will be sponsoring something and maybe you can get yourself invited - when my Dad was in the State Dep't he and my Mom would always have a party for important events like these.

01:00 Live Cleveland vs Boston - ALCS Game 1 - MLB

This will be broadcast on Friday (=Saturday morning CEST) 1am on NASN

No, sorry you can't get my viewing card . I just booked this paytv channel, because it's included in my package. It's on Astra satellite and should be available in several countries on the continent. One live game per day.

My son was in Moscow when the Red Sox won the world series. Being from Boston that was a real bummer, but business is business. There were numerous phone calls to dad.

Thanks for your replies and ideas. Paris will be wonderful, and now I'm hopeful I can catch at least some of the games.

Go Sox.

You might try some of the English/Irish pubs. My last time in Paris, a few years ago, I recall that The Cricketeer in the 7th was open late for a Golf game or something American sports thing. It's a long shot, but can't hurt to ask around.

Manny and David were on base 11 times! Getting ready for game 2 in a few hours...nice to have the Sox sweep in Boston, then take 2 of 3 in Cleveland to end it...looks like Colorado will be the WS foe...Enjoy Paris!

Try the Highlander Bar on Rue de Nevers. Its open until 5AM, has satellite for just about every channel available. Given that its on at 1.30 am it shouldn't clash with any football and Dave the owner is a pretty accomodating guy.

The number is on their website, give them a call before time and ask if he can do it for you. All the staff are English speaking so shouldn't have any problems getting clear info. You may have to put up with some compettion from the music though. Good luck for the game.

our hotel, the Marriott, had the Redskins game on one of the satellite channels, so we watched in the room. It is a small world, and getting smaller.

I admire your loyalty to the World Champion Red Sox. I was lucky enough to see Series games 1 & 2 in Fenway (after a six week trip to France, Italy, and Switzerland in September-October). Travel schedules are subject to Sox Series possibility!

Cheers,
