MLB Playoffs in Paris

After 14 years of futility, my beloved Philadelphia Phillies are headed to the playoffs! I'll be able to watch games 1 and 2 of the divisional series before we leave for Paris, but games 3, 4 (if necessary), and 5 (if necessary) are scheduled while we're away.

Can anyone suggest a bar, restaurant, cafe, etc in Paris where I might be able to watch the games?

Thank you.

I don't have the schedules in front of me - are they day or night games? There is a 6 hour time difference so 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. starts will be played overnight.

There are some sports bars in Paris but the timing is against you. If you are taking a laptop, I think you can watch on-line.

The Great Canadian Pub on Quai des Augsutins (left bank, across from ND) is owned by a Canadian (Mark). They show NHL games...so possibly MLB also ..even though Jays not in
He told me they can open for 24hrs/day

You can try these guys. They run 2 sports bars whichmainly cater to Canadians and Americans.

www.mooseheadparis.com

www.mlb.com also broadcasts the games on line for a fee.

You may also try Freedom Bar, off of the Champs. It had several big screens up for the 2006 Superbowl (during a major rugby tourney in Paris at the time) and the regulars I spoke with said that they would put on anything with a demand.

Unfortunately, I think game 3 is at 9PM on Sat and game 4 is at 10PM on Sun so the time difference might be a problem.

And, GO Phillies!!!

I was in London in 2003 when the Yankees were in the world series. They were on television at the hotel I was staying at. I was pleasently surprised.

The Superbowl is another matter entirely -- it is shown live every year on Canal Plus (channel 4), and since it doesn't start until about 2 am, it is not in conflict with any local sports.

I did do a search of 'American baseball on television in Paris' and someone said (in 2005) that these 2 places sometimes show baseball:

Mustang Café (84 boulevard Montparnasse)

The Moosehead (16 rue des Quatre-vents)

However, considering the fact that most bars in Paris close at 2 am (it's the law if you don't have a waiver), I would imagine that these places only show baseball when it is played before midnight, CET.

I recall a microbrewery (yes really) near St. Sulpice towards the river, but I can't recall the name of it, sorry. They were showing all the American football games, and the beer was pretty good.

American football is semi-popular in Paris, so lots of places show it. American baseball, no.
