We will be staying in Regensburg, Germany for 2 days in the middle of September. Any hotel suggestions, preferably near the train staion? Thanks.

We stayed at the Hotel Orphee two years ago and really enjoyed it. Sorry, not sure where the train station is but it made a nice stop for us on our way to Prague. We also ate at their restaurant and thought it was great.

That hotel was my first choice but unfortunately the hotel is full that night.

The Star Inn is next to the train station. It's just another big chain hotel without atmosphere, nothing special, but all right, clean and conveniently located.

Check out the Insel Sorat-not by the station but worth a taxi ride.
If you get the right room with the view of the Danube, cathedral and bridge you will be delighted. We had an executive room on the first floor with a tiny (not big enough to sit on) balcony- right over the Danube. There was a taxi stand right by the hotel and it is an easy walk to all the other places of interest, restaurants, etc., just not the rail station.
