Reasonable hotels - Paris, Rome, Athens
I am looking for budget - moderatley priced hotel in Paris, Rome, and Athens. I am not looking to spend much time in the room- but the room has to have a full bathroom with shower etc.
In Paris- I would like to be near Notre Dame
In Rome- I would like to be near a major attraction
In Athens-I am not sure where to pick ..
FYI: the purpose of my travel is too hit tourist attractions and then be on my way.
Thanks!

I stayed at www.hoteljulia.it in Rome and loved it.
It is right by the Trevi. Breakfast is included.

It would help if we knew what you consider reasonable.... and at what season?? In August & early September, prices in Athens are higher than in October thru May... Greece has a longer "off-season" than France and Italy.
In Athens, "reasonable" in high season probably would be about €125? maybe more? The important thing would be to be in a convenient area, preferably the Plaka district or just adjacent. Attalos used to be a great value, but has crept up in price without increasing amenities, and not on a very attractive street, tho safe. If I were you, I would check the prices of Hotel Metropolis, Pan, Central, Arethusa, Phillipos. A bit more would be HOtels Amazon, Hermes,Plaka and Parthenon. Check both on hotel sites and on agency sites, such as booking.com. If you find a really good rate on the agency sites, you can always check direct with hotel sources and see if they will match the price.

I haven't stayed at Hotel Esmeralda in Paris for a million years, but I still remember it (fondly!) as the quirky, perfectly located legend that it still is - right across the street from the Notre Dame. No online booking, and you really need to book months in advance, but if you are looking for perfect location and don't mind a place that is a little "eclectic," it would be perfect for you.

In Paris we stayed at the Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche, also in the Latin Quarter, on Rue St. Jacques, across the street from St. Sulpice and a five minute walk across the Petit Pont to Notre Dame. A room at the front will give you a view (albeit from quite a distance) of the Eiffel Tower. Here's the website:

And here's ambage's suggestion (found it while I was looking for the Henri IV):
