Reading Messages

Let's say you visit this website early in the morning and not again for at least 3 hours. How far to you scroll down before "refreshing" the site and going back to a current number 1 message? Mike

Well it varies, but right now the post done three hours ago is number 67. I've seen days when in three hours a post could move down to about 150 or even more.

If that is how you visit this site - simply write down the last time you checked in (the time displays on every post). Then you just have to scroll back as far as that time.

There is no way to say how far back that will be - in the middle of the night it might be less than 1/2 a page, at a busier time it might be 2 or 3 pages.

There is no way I can keep up with the Europe board. The first visit of the day I'll check the first 50 messages and maybe read a few. Right now I'm enjoying first time travellers who want to visit 27 cities in a 10 vacation.

I don't have a European vacation planned for this year (darn) so I don't have a need to be on the Europe board at all, but it's fun.

Hey, ncgrrl, the reason a lot of us check this forum is because we can't travel at the moment. At least this way we can stay in touch with those who are.

ncgrrl,
I haven't been to Europe in 27 years and don't have any plans for the near future but I must get my daily Europe Forum fix. You're not alone. It's an addiction. And some day I will go and I will be the most informed traveler ever.

If you are looking for a particular thread that you have started and/or posted on, then log in your screen name in the search box and you'll find the thread based on the time of its most recent posting.

Is this a sad question, or what?

And knowing the answer is sadder.

I scroll/read as far as the ones I read last night, and then start again. And I do the same after a fortnight's holiday
