Re hotel in Dinan
Has anyone stayed at Hotel Challonge in Dinan?..if so, any comments? It's between that and Hotel de l' Arvor
. The latter has parking. Challonge is in the Green Michelin..but says nothing about parking.
Thanks

Lois, we are staying at this place in Dinan. I saw it on Karen Browns' website and it has a good review on tripadvisor: www.logis-du-jerzual.com/.
I had not heard of the one you mentioned, but it certainly looks nice enough. From the map on their website it seems there is a public parking lot right next to the hotel.

I stayed at the Arvor last May - and it had no parking then! Don't comit yourself on the basis of the hypothetical - the parking available is only on-street or public parking.
However - I'd strongly recommend the Arvor simply for the wonderful friendly and helpful owners. I wrote a review of my stay in the "Hotels" section of this site.
I am sorry - I have no knowledge of the Challonge whatsoever for the purposes of comparisson or otherwise.
I am sure you will enjoy your time in the town - it really is a little gem.

Hmm. Interesting responses. The Logis du Jerezul looks good too but it's up a steep hill...and for us that's out. I hate getting older!!
The Challonge seems good..parking evidently is on a square in front..I guess it's ok unless it's market day.
Oh dear..here I go again trying to make decisions. On trip advisor they seem to indicate the Arvor has parking so I am surprised that it doesn't. Dr do good ...did you find public parking easily???.

When we were there last June, the Arvor's parking lot was not accessible because of construction on a next door building. The owner indicated that once the construction was finished, the parking lot would return. You can probably find out by calling the hotel.
We had no problem with on-street parking close to the hotel. You can also park in the main square (du Guesclin) overnight, except that on Wednesday night you must move your car very early indeed, as Thursday is market day.
