Rapallo hotel suggestions?

I am looking for a hotel in Rapallo (clean, moderately priced, although i wouldn't mind splurging a bit for a view and a nice room) in July. I will be traveling on my own and am in my early 40s. Location: preferably quiet, but not far from main drag. I have travelled to Italy many times before, but not to Rapallo. Thanks in advance for your help!

There was a report by a poster who stayed in Rapallo; I think this was last summer. I believe, but am not certain, that she stayed at the Hotel Astoria and liked it very much; we visited Rapallo for a few hours and saw the hotel which has a great location. I think she got a very good rate, so you might check, even though it is listed as 4-star.

We stayed at the Hotel Astoria in 2007 and were very pleased with the accommodations and price at the time. The location is terrific-although not quiet, since most of Rapallo has tons of Vespas. Don't miss market day, one of the boat excursions to SML and other towns, and strolling through the streets and shops. We found this to be a lovely relaxing resort town with easy access by train to other major cities and the Cinque Terre for a day trip.
