Can anyone tell me what type of weather I can expect in Spain during the last week of March, first week of April?

Out itinerary is Madrid, Pamplona, Bilbao, across the northern coast to Santiago de Compostela, down to Porto, Portugal then back east to Madrid through Jarandilla.

Is this really a question about rain? The info given on weatherbase does not include avg numbere of rainy days for Madrid, but it does for Bilbao: 16 for March and 17 for April. Both cities will have similar highs on average (about 59-61), and similar lows (38-44). Madrid averages more days below 32 than Bilbao: 6 in March and 2 in April. Porto is milder, especially at the low end; 34 is the lowest temperature ever recorded in April there - - but it gets almost three times the rain of Madrid, pretty much in parallel every month of the year (49 inches vs 17 total, 5 vs 2 in March or April).

Yoiu will encounter rain if you are there for ten days on this itinerary.

Unless you're at the airport - then it would be the plane.

Don't rule out the 's' word: SNOW, that is, in Navarre Province (Pamplona) and west, in the vicinity of the Picos de Europa. The latter is just a few km south of your route but it's close enough. You will see the snow capped peaks, as you cross the rio Deva which is where the Principality of Asturias and Cantabria come together. If you decide to visit Covadonga, count on snow on the ground at higher altitudes.

Expect rain in Galicia. It's usually cool and damp during the Spring. Take the coast road Baiona-la Guardia; visit Monte Santa Tecla. Then take the bridge from Tuy to Valenca do Minho.

Porto is fine. but no visit to northern Portugal would be complete without a stop in Guimaraes (birthplace of modern Portugal) or Braga.
