Skip that part as it is only used if you want to book a specific seat (i.e. to sit next to somebody who bought a previous ticket)

Click on the seat icons to show how you want your seats to be configured and proceed to checkout.

Hi R,

Look for the due per uno (2for1) offer on the AV - 39 E for 2 1cl, 33E 2cl.

When you choose your seats for two, just click on the seat icons and continue.

You will get an email giving you your carriage and seat numbers.

Now you have to buy a ticket for one.

Choose Amica (regular fare).

It is now that you want to choose the carriage and seat numbers so that your third person seats with the other two.

Enjoy your visit.

Am i correct that the default seating then would automatically put three people as near together as possible?

Or book tickets on an ICPlus train and select the "Liberta di viaggiare a 15 Euro" fare - E15 for either 1st or 2nd class.

Thanks for all the advice. Can anyone get the 2 for 1 fare or do you need a railcard or something?

Hi PB,

>Am i correct that the default seating then would automatically put three people as near together as possible?<

In theory, Yes, but this is Italy.

On one ES* where the seating was

XX XX YY

XX XX YY

a group of four was given

XX XX YY

XX

While the two of us got

XX YY

It was no problem to switch seats.

Hi R,

>Can anyone get the 2 for 1 fare or do you need a railcard or something?<

Now that you mention it, you must buy a due per uno card from me for each of the two passengers.

This will cost you 39E pp for 1cl and 33E pp for 2 cl.

Send me your names, addresses, checking account numbers, PINs and credit card information and I will mail you the tickets. There is a $15 per ticket S&H charge.

In addition, I am in possession of $35,000,000 in a Nigerian bank. I cannot take the money out because the government has a watch on the account.

If you will send me $5000 as a good-will gesture, I shall transfer the money to your bank account and give you half.

OR

You could just buy the tickets as I suggested.

Feeling a bit smart alecky today.

Oh Poo,

The spacing didn't come out right.

The ES* seating is two facing two, the aisle, and one facing one.

Ros -
I, too, was confused about the Trenitalia website and, eventually, my husband managed it. We purchased 2 for 1 tickets Rome to Naples on the AV. (We just returned 2 days ago!) It was a great bargain. We waited til we were in Italy to buy the return portion (Naples to Rome). We were unable to purchase the 2 for 1 while there...had to pay much, much more. We opted for 1st class both ways. It's a great train, very clean, relaxing, and smooth. Far and away the nicest train trip we've experienced. In addition, there's a waiting lounge for which you must have tickets to be admitted and was a welcome respite from the rest of the train terminal.

Hope this helps somewhat! Happy travels!

Hi Ros,

The 241 fares are available to everyone.

Book them as early as you can, they sell out fast.

Enjoy your visit.
