Get your Thalys R'dam to Paris-Nord tickets ASAP - early bird discounts can be as low as 39 euros vs a wlak up fare of maybe $200 or so - cheaper tickets sell out way early and are non-changeble non-refundable I believe - www.thalys.com is the official site.

We've booked our flights and hotels. Got a good RT fare into and out of Brussels (slightly under $900) so will live with the inconvenience of getting to Amsterdam and back to Brussels from Paris.
My DS ("disabled spouse") is O.K. with the train travel: three trips with luggage in a three-week vacation. I've checked the website and Thalys (which is what we'd be taking) offers assistance at the stations--you can arrange in advance or just ask if you need it.
Thanks for all your help. I printed this thread for DS who thought there was lots of good information.
I'll post another thread closer to the time.
BTW--looks like the Thalys website permits bookings no more than ninety days ahead. So now, you can only book through early August. I'll monitor.
