Quiet Jordaan hotel/apartment?

My wife and I are planning to visit Amsterdam for the first time in October. Have been reading a lot about the Jordaan area. Any help on ideas for a quiet three-star hotel or private apartment rental would be appreciated.

These are both in the Jordaan:
Try www.barrangay.nl for a very small and elegant-looking B&B. For an apartment, try the 'Lieve Nachten':
www.book-a-hotel-in-amsterdam.com/en/hotel/hotels/lievenachten/index.html
The first part of that website will give you lots of other options.

We stayed at the Canal House Hotel (www.canalhouse.nl) in the Jordaan area last August. It was either 3 or 4 stars. Our room was lovely and we had a great canal view. We would definitely stay there again.

We found it very quiet. The general neighborhood is the most picturesque area of Amsterdam that we saw. It's very close to the restaurants and the Anne Frank House.

Hi There

Also try the Hotel Acacia on the Lijnbaansgracht in the Northwestern part of the Jordaan, near the Westerstraat. Rumour has it that they not only have rooms to rent, but also canal boats! Fun! Website http://hotelacacia.nl/home_eng.htm
