Quick lunch near Vatican?
Hi all. I know there are four hundred posts here re eating in Rome. We've seen several recommendations for restaurants near the Vatican (Osteria dell'Angelo), but we are not looking for dinner.
We have about 45-60 mts for lunch between ending our visit to St.Peter's and meeting our ContextRome guide at 1:30 for the Vatican Museums.
So we are looking for good food and fast service as close to the Vatican as we can get. We thought about eating at the place we're meeting the tour guide (Trattoria de Paolo), but read posts that said the food is not good there.
Any suggestions?
(And since you're here... we are doing Rick Steve's night walk through Rome, starting at Campo de Fiori and ending at the Spanish Steps. We would like to have dinner somewhere along that route. Dinner with a view would be great. SO, near Piazza Navona or near Trevi? We'd like to stick to budget of under 75 dollars if possible for the two of us. Also important to know, we are somewhat adventurous, but will not be doing entrails or lamb (too rich). Seafood ok. But simple food is alright, too. (Hey, I'm looking forward to some great rissotto!)
THANKS ALL!!!!!!

Hi all, pardon my jumping in here, but--toni gb: did you have..."the best pizza we had during three trips to Italy!" at the cafeteria or at the pizzaria right
"next to the cafeteria that's not bad" as
sanditravelnut mentioned. (just clarifying). Thanks so much.

The cafeteria/pizzaria are inside the museum so you would have to pay to get in the museum to reach them. The cafeteria serves hot dishes in addition to sandwiches and the food is good with decent prices.
There is a cafeteria outside the Piazza to the left as you face St. Peter's. Nothing to brag about, but would be fast. I think the name is Colonnato. It's next to the Galleria Savelli (great place for VA souvenirs).

There's a branch of Insalata Ricca near the Vatican Museum metro stop. Insalata Ricca sells really good salads for about seven euros and also has a few pasta dishes. They also have branches near S. Andrea church on Corso Victor E , just off Piazza Novana, and elsewhere in Rome.

rkkwan...that sounds like a good place. Anyone know if they have sandwiches?
Also, I suppose we'd be ok with "street food", but we will have been on our feet for several hours and I'm sure will want to have a sit for as long as we can before getting back on our feet for another 3 hours.
Thanks, all.
