Question for "ZWHO"

I posted this on the Poland board, but since it has little traffic, I'm posting it here too. If others have ideas, I'd love to hear them.

"On 02/28/2005, zwho wrote the following on hiring a Genealogical guide in Poland : 'In May of 2003 ....(we) hired a guide/researcher and driver and it was wonderful. Without him, we would not have found anything.' "

Could you possibly post contact information about the guide you hired? My wife's family is of German origin, but lived in the area that went from German to Polish to Russian control as a result of various wars and treaties. The area where they are from, Rypin (between Warsaw and Gdansk), is now part of Poland. Since we speak no Polish, we'd like help in locating records of her ancestors and possible guide service for a future trip to Poland.

Any help you or others could give would be much appreciated.

I have no idea about your questions.

But just to help you out in the future: "I posted this on the Poland board, but since it has little traffic, I'm posting it here too."

There is no "Poland Board" -- or France board or Sweden board or any other country. There is just one forum - Europe - so both of you threads are "here".

Clicking on a country is there as an aid to search for threads about a specific country - but even that will only bring up some, since many people don't click on a country before they start a new thread.

Threads directed to a specific fodorite sometimes don't work, since she may not be on line. If you must get her attention it is sometimes better to tack your question on to a recent thread she has posted to.

I would normally suggest topping your earlier thread - but its title is fairly generic and doesn't mention Poland.

You may get better response if you re post w/ a title something like "Need Genealogical help in Poland"
