Furs and embroidery

In looking at the various guidebooks for Russia, I note a lack of information about where to buy fur and traditional cross stitch embroidery. Anyone know ?

Bringing your question back up to the top... it's certainly an unusual question, and perhaps the message header is distinct enough, though Fodors DOES ask everyone to mention destinations in the message header, when applicable (I note that you did click on the Russia "box" when you posted this) - - that's good, but "Russia" gets very few questions.. or answers... in an average MONTH. (France or Italy get more, in an average HOUR).

Yu might try posting as a piggyback question to any thread, for which a guy named Marc David Miller has provided a reply. He seems to be the resident Russia guru, here on this forum. And he lists his e-mail address (though I always think it better if questions are asked and answered here, PUBLICLY, rather tan privately one-on-one in e-mail). Still you could e-mail him and ask that he reply to your question here.

See http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34551494 for example.

I would not have thought that this would be an obscure question, though, surprisngly, a one-minute internet search yielded far less info than I would have expected...

Best wishes,

Yes, well this post was addressed to the Russia board, not to the general public. Too bad Fodors posts all to the general board, too.
What I find very annoying is that general posts go to the particular boards. For example, if you're looking at the Slovakia board, you're liable to get all sorts of extraneous posts - perhaps on the Grande Bretagne Hotel in Athens - and then those same posts also appear on all the other particular boards. Very, very annoying.

Its only one board for europe unless all these years I have been mistaken? When you post they ask for a country to help when people do a search it will be set under that place but overall the posts all come to the europe board. This has always been the way it was set up at least since I was here.

Bedar, are you annoyed because you're having trouble finding your post? If you click on your name, anything you've written will come up straight away. Throwing a question out to the general Europe board doesn't affect anything, only shows it to more people who might hopefully have an answer for you. Surely that's a good thing?

No, I can always find my posts. It's just very annoying to go to a particular board and find posts that have nothing to do with that country.

They also have a thread about What Film to Buy..( no mention of Slovakia).
I guess Fodors has a glitch now and then when dispersing the zillions of threads to their various boards.
I see you have posted a new thread with Russia in the title, good luck on getting more information.
