cigale, I liked your joke too but I get tired of stupid American references & posts.

And I know it's PC, but since I have a handicapped family member, I almost never think cripple jokes are funny.

Time to take a Fodors Time Out.

thanks pixie, I tried to register several times but the many numbers and letters have been difficult to type.

DSM22, Penhaligon's Violet is the BEST available

obgirl, I understand what you mean. I'm slightly disabled and when I get insulted for my typing, I can only feel sorry for the insulter, but that joke really wasn't about a disabled person, anymore than jokes about dumb blondes being all dumb.

cigale, I , too , thought your joke was funny.
I too, am a blonde.
I would rather an innocent joke, than the deliberate personal attacks that take place here any day.
Oh, and I also wear black a lot..sigh, what are we going to do with me ~

Scarlett, I could never picture in Florida. When a classmate arrived at thereunion, she looked lovely in Black in the evening but during the days events she very bright colors and prints. This New England area is conservative so we could tell who came from out of the area even if we could no longer recognize the person.
That's why no way is the right way. Your area , life style plays a big part.

Yes, cigale. I am quite sure that heaven will smell like Violetta when I get there.

Could you not get registered? We would love to have you there. There are some really nice people on that board too.

I like having my travel fix and then my wntw fix everyday. I get cranky when I don't. Is that one of the first signs of an addiction. Maybe the second is when you are on vacation wondering what posts you're missing and what thread is getting pulled today. I have a life, no really, I do.

That's also lovely. Before the Americans bought out P. I always wore the fragrance Elizebethian Rose(sp?)
later I discovered Coté Sud and Santa Maria Novella.

I am tempted to buy some Iris from this site, since I cannot get to a store that sells it, any time soon.
I was just gifted with quite a bit of scented soaps and lotions from a returning traveler, who shopped in Brussells, Brugge and Luxembourg.
Lucky me, and I have boxes of chocolates

Scarlett, going to Brussells, Brugges, and Luxembourg next july. I was thinking that I would need to bring an extra suitcase for all the chocolate. Do you thnk that I may need one for fragrances as well??

You know I like to pack light, and get new clothes before I go, well just because they pack so much better!

Or maybe that was loveitaly that convinced me of that fact. Either way I have a feeling I need to really crack down and save so I can spend on yummy chocolates and fragrances.

Maybe if I just wear and pack a couple of black things I would solve the problem. Four items in black for two weeks, plenty of room for goodies, and all kinds of money for the goodies since I will wear only the few boring black things I own. Gee maybe I should rethink the whole "boring black" thing.

cigale, you are too kind. If you would like to send me a fragrant card, it would make me happy as always

dsm,
my daughter (just returned from Brussles/Brugge/Antwerp/Ghent) reported that her spring pastels were ok during the day, but nights, everyone wore black. The little fitted denim jackets are big with the little peasant skirts.
she was cold much of the time and bought a few thing to wear lol, (any excuse) but she did bring back 5 kilos of chocolate (her boss and others gave her $ to bring it back for them)..and indeed, she did buy an extra suitcase there to bring back the goodies.
Did I mention I got a new Longchamp bag?lol and loads of wonderful good smelling bath products.

No, you did not mention the Longchamp bag. Sounds like such lovely things. I hope that you are not like me when I have moved Scarlett, I have packed things, moved and never found them again! And Portland is a loooong way away from Florida.

5 kilos of chocolate. How's a girl supposed to pack light and stay that way? I am doomed for sure as I love chocolate!

I know that we we have to probably wear a black skirt for our concert attire while we sing. She usually has us wear a pastel or white top with it. So I will have the black skirt for at night covered. Thanks.

Wow, I did not realize that it you were only down there for a year. I used to say I was going to run away and go work for "the mouse" down there. But the older I get the less I can stand the heat, and the hurricanes just seem to do more and more damage.

My mom is in Louisiana and she got her house leveled by two different hurricanes.

They are scary. We have had a few tornadoes rip through here. I get so scared when these storms come through. I had to go down the basement twice last year. I saw the cloud over my back feild, green and moving all weird. I wanted to get the husband back into the house he was in the barn.

When I saw that cloud, I knew I better get into the basement because I wasn't going to have time to make it back.

I got down there barely in time. It was less than 1/2 mile away. The dog went completely nuts. I had a hard time getting her down the stairs.

My husband was hunkered down in the barn. We were lucky, that's all.

When I travel, I always wonder what it would be like to live wherever I go. I know that there are 'issues' everywhere you go, probably.

Remembering how lucky we were that day makes me not worry about what to wear on vacation so much.

Hi dms22, yes I am the guilty party that talked you into packing all new clothes, lol. BTW, Marilyn can vouch for this. Black is good for a number of reason including when the waitress spills the whole cup of double esspresso onto one's lap. Fortunatly I had on a black narrow pinstripe pant suit. No stain, although I did feel like I had had an "accident" for about an hour, until my pants dried. Black covers a multitude of problems, lol.

Geepers Loveitaly the heck with the stain on the pants! Didn't that burn???

We are always sighting that lady who sued for spilling coffee on herself. I know that she did not get the money she asked for though.

You could sue for a million.
