Question about Mountains towns

I keep hearing "especially the mountain towns". Well, I've never been to Switzerland so I have no clue which town is a mountain town and which is not. We are going to the Lucerne area the last week of Sept. Can you give me some names of "mountain towns" in that area? Thanks!

Closer to Lucerne is Engleberg (about 45 mins by train i believe), one of Switzerland's primo glacier-studded Alpine resorts. Budman's three towns are much further afield but i also prefer those mountain towns because of even more awesome scenery than Engleberg. But if you just wish to do a short day trip head to Engleberg, above which ice-girdled Mt Titlis hovers.

We could take a day trip there. We don't mind a longer train ride - what better way to see some more of Switzerland without driving and having to find our way? gt;
