Purchasing train tickets in Positano?!

We are beginning our trip in Positano.
Then planning on hiring a driver to take us to Naples train station (to continue our trip to Rome by train and after a few days on to Bellagio by train).
Most of you have advised us not to buy our train tickets from home, but to wait till we get to Italy and then purchase everything we need at once.
But will we be able to do that in Positano?(since there is no train station there?)
What do you all advise?
And, Thank You!

I am not sure of the correct answer to your question, but we bought train tickets at a travel agent office in Sorrento. I assume that there would be a travel agent in Positano. Make sure what their hours are as things close for long lunches and not open on Sunday etc. Have a great trip.

Ask at your hotel and if there isn't a travel agent in town use the one that sells train tickets in Sorrento, right on the Corso as Yipper notes.

I would just buy the Naples-Rome tickets when you get to Naples station. Then buy the next set when you are ready to leave Rome. Etc.

Hi klap,

If you know which train you will be taking to Rome, why not buy your ticket in advance online from www.trenitalia.com?

You could buy your ticket at any Trenitalia train station or TA before you get to Positano.

From all the research I've done, I thought it was better for some reason to purchase tickets in Italy. Am I wrong?
Also, our first stop is Positano, so I don't think we'll have a chance to get tickets on the first day, on the way from the airport to hotel.

Hi K,

Yu can buy your tickets online from www.trenitalia.com for the same price as in Italy.

Are you flying into Naples?

Ira,
Yes, we are flying into Naples and being picked up by Renato Cumo and driven to Positano.
Thanks for the info,
I thought it was less expensive to purchase them in italy.
