Pulling the trigger on this Paris apartment. Yes?

http://www.vrbo.com/455423?%20utm_so...ryConfirmation

This is an Adrian Leeds apartment in the Marais. Two bed, two bath, air conditioned, re-done in 2012. It looks perfect for two couples in July.
Thanks for all the help in my other threads!!!!
Well, what do we think of this one? About $200 per couple per night, available for our 4 nights.
Should I pull the trigger?

I'm concerned that two of the 5* rave reviews seem to be for a place in FL, USA. Probably and error, but.

Also, I can find no mention of an elevator/lift. Maybe I'm just missing it.

The apartment is on the 5th floor (6th US), and I don't see mention of a lift/elevator.

The second bedroom has a sofabed/futon trundle bed.

I'd want to see a floor plan to see about the bathroom situation. I think there's only one toilet for the apartment. One ensuite shower room with sink between the two bedrooms, and a bathroom with tub (shower?) by the front entrance.

Also, none of the reviews are about this apartment. Strange.

Beautiful apartment. I enjoy the Marais. Shame about the screw up on the reviews. I doubt there is an elevator but just think of all the cheese and wine calories you'll burn with those steps!

It's your rental, if you like it the best, go for it. It's a fine location. I don't like it much myself, I liked the last one you showed better (Homeaway). First, I don't really like apartments that have the toilet on the opposite side of the apartment from the shower/tub. But, on top of that, it does appear to have no elevator and is pretty high up (higher than the last one), and they claim this trundle/futon becomes a double bed that is as comfortable as the best bedding. Ha ha ha, impossible. I don't like that dumb table and chairs, either, think it's ugly but that isn't so important.

The one bedroom and shower room look nice, though, and if you are going in July, it will be nice to have AC in the bedroom, and it's a decent location. So everything I don't like, you've seen, so nothing wrong with it.

I find it suspicious that there is no photo of the trundle bed made into this other arrangement they claim is so great, nor any good reviews, which is her fault, I imagine. If it's the website, she should fix it, she is a professional, after all.

If you look close you will see there is an elevator. I asked the responder to send comments and she did send me some reviews. I am not terribly bothered by the fact that there seems to be only one toilet, although two bathrooms. The second bedroom has a trundle bed that becomes a queen. It says that it is as comfortable as any bed. Anyway, it is 4 days, not 4 months. This property is listed on several sites, so I was able to learn a lot about it. I also got two prompt replys, which is more than I can say for many of the apts. I inquired about. Thanks!!!

There is only 1 toilet in this apartment, which is not a big deal IMO. The deal breaker for me would be that fact that one couple gets a bedroom and the other gets a trundle bed. BTW, I think that I saw the House Hunters International episode with this apartment and if this is the apartment that saw, there is no lift. If it is for July 2014, I would keep looking for something with a better bedroom situation for two couples.

On the Adrian Leeds site, it does say that there is an elevator.

I've had an apartment in this neighborhood and it's a good location, but I would still be a little leery about the sofabed/futon/trundle. Perhaps some of the reviews you have seen comment on the comfort of that bed.

The price is certainly attractive for a two-bedroom with air conditioning in that neighborhood.

I just rented a different two bedroom from Parler Paris in the Marais and I can vouch for the company. They were easy to deal with and in our case, the apartment was nicer than the photos! We have a second rental scheduled in December.

Funny because our apartment did have an elevator in the building but, it wasn't working during our stay. The biggest issue was carrying up heavy bags on arrival but, otherwise it really was great exercise (although I must admit I wished it worked at least a few of those times). I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.

I like it a lot...as long as there is an elevator to the 5th floor.

As you've said, it's 4 nights, not 4 months.

We would give our friends the master and we would take the trundle. We don't care! Now, to make things worse, I found an apartment on homeaway that we stayed in a few years ago and loved. So I sent off an email to ask about it. It is right around the corner from the Eiffel Tower and every night we ended our evening in front of it, sparkling and gorgeous.
It is more money than the Marais apt though and our friends may not be willing to up the budget. Oy. Thank you for all the good advice!!!!

Yes, there is an elevator - stated on the Adrian Leeds page listing at http://www.adrianleeds.com/parler-pa...-de-saint-paul. Good location for a brief stay. AC in July could be a lifesaver if it gets as hot as it did year before last.
Go for it!
