Provence wines and winery tours
We're spending 10 days in the Vaucluse in June, at Sarrians, and amongst other things we are looking forward to sampling the local wines and visiting the wineries. We have planned one day for Chateauneuf-du-Pape, where I will be setting up a visit at Chateau Beaucastel. I also hear les Caves St Charles and Vignobles Mayard are good places for tastings.
We'll definitely be making several visits to the Gigondas Coop, a short drive from Sarrians, as well as the one at Bonnieux. But how about the actual wineries? I will be emailing the local tourist offices for contacts, Rue des Vignerons is also a good source and I also will be using them to set up appointments in Bourgogne in July. I'm not looking for guided tours in Provence, we'll have a car as well as designated driver too!
What have your experiences been, which are the places you liked particularly and would recommend? I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions, it's always a plus to have first hand information and tips. Thanks in advance
