I studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence this summer and went to most of southern France. It was a memorable experience!
Don't rent a car in Aix; it's hard to get around by car there. Better to go by the bus and rail. Aix is a small city and you can walk across the entire city in about 20 minutes.

Pickle: We stayed at the Villa Glanum just outside of St. Remy this summer. It was about 80 euros for a big room with two beds. It had a swimming pool, which my daughters really enjoyed. It's right across the road from the St. Paul Sanitorium (open to the public), where Van Gogh stayed after his ear-lopping experiment, and the very impressive Greco-Roman settlement of Glanum. The hoel is about one mile from the center of St. Remy. Rent a car if you go to St. Remy.

armity..
I emailed you a thread that I posted on several times. We used a travel company in Cairo and they got us better prices than I could get from the hotels and cruise company myself.
I didn't do a full trip report, although I did for Andalucia.
