Provence hotel options

I'm in the middle of booking our trip to France in June and am having trouble making a decision on a hotel in the Luberon. We are planning on spending 2 or 3 nights in that area and another 2 or 3 nights closer to St. Remy and Les Baux. Based on price (under 300 euro) and availability, I narrowed my list down to - La Bastide de Gordes, le Mas des Herbes Blanches, and Chateau de Mazan. Any advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've not stayed at all three, beyond my budget but they all have a good reputation. I would choose to stay at the one with the least rooms. You get better service and they can't help notice you in case of any need of help.

Friends of ours stayed at Le Mas des Herbes Blanches and liked it quite a lot. What about possibilities near St-Rémy?

Thank you cigalechanta and Underhill for your helpful responses. I am leaning toward Le Mas des Herbes Blanches. As for St. Remy, I am still waiting to hear back from some hotels regarding their availability. Right now, Le Hameau des Baux and Hotel Mas de l'Oulivie are options. Do you know either of those? Many thanks for your help!

Seapuff(cute name) I'v seen layouts of both places in what I call my house porn, those beautiful coffee table books.
Both look lovely and the L'Oulivie looks like it's in a breathtaking setting. Moments ago I went to the website for a virtual tour by the pool.

Of the three, I've only stayed at La Bastide de Gordes. It was very nice: great views, good restaurant, very nice breakfasts. Although Gordes is a small town, it is a popular route for day trippers and bus tours, something anyone booking a room would do well to keep in mind since the hotel backs onto the main road (i.e. "valley view" is preferable to "village side&quot.

Should your travels take you further eastward into the Var, I highly recommend the Chateau de Trigance in the Gorges du Verdon: www.chateau-de-trigance.fr.

When I had rented a villa in Villefranche-sur-Mer, I drove over to spend a weekend..that is how fond I am of both the area and the particular place...enjoy
