Provencal Beetle?

Maybe a weird question but, the beetle bug on the linens and artwork in provence are those called scarabs or do they go by another name/ Thanks

Do you mean cicadas? Cigales in French. Very popular, symbol of good luck.

I've been up in the pine and olive trees
singing away in my usual discordant way, Kevin, and my people are not related to grasshoppers if anyone thought so.

Here another big storm is moving in, after a glorious day and a half of sun.

Nikki and Mimi,

At least it's not snowing!

Last weekend we worked in the yard in shorts and t shirts - Then it snowed! At least I can feel that it's spring, I heard my first peeper on Monday.

Perhaps the weather woke him early cos I haven't heard anything since

Mimi,

thanks for the reminder, I've just checked and our first pick-up is next Saturday - some of our neighbors already have bags out on the sidewalk.

We have wetlands in our yard so I'm reluctant to dump too many leaves back there - we compost as many as we can but we also bag our leaves.

So, I guess on Sunday - if the weather is as good as they are forecasting we'll clear the rest of the yard and bag it ready for next weekend
