Private tour guide in Rome?
Without a tour to get us quickly through the long lines at the Vatican, do you have any tips for 3 independent tourists?
We are also looking for an English speaking, FUN and informed, younger, private tour guide to show our 13 year old grandson the highlights in Rome.
Thank you!
Sandy

A private guide for just the 3 of you would be very expensive - unless you're just talking about a student who can provide the most basic info. I would figure out what you want to see/do and then look at some of the smaller group tours - if you don;t want to just explore on your own.

We just returned from Italy. We spent a day with Ron in Rome. He is an American living in Rome. We spent the day in Ancient Rome, 9-5 with a break for lunch. The cost was 120 euro. We found him very informative and enjoyed our day. I would recommend him. www.roninrome.com

You might try Francesca Caruso. She does Rome tours for Rick Steves. Several Fodorites have used her.
