Private drivers to Bath and other daytrips?

Hi everyone,
Taking the train to Bath may be too cost prohibitive for us with the times we want to travel... so I was wodnering if we should consider getting a private car service for either a tour or just to take us there and bring us home.

I was thinking of contacting Ray about this, but also thought that I saw some other recommendations about someone who does van tours to the Cottswolds.

If you've hired private drivers for day trips, can you please let me know your recommendations?

Also to keep in mind, we're 4 adults and a toddler, so we'd need a minivan with a carseat.

Thanks in advance,
kat

A car will be around 200GBP for the day at the very least, a train is by far the cheaper option.

Actually, MK2, the train tickets would be 360GBP, so 200GBP doesn't sound so bad to me. But thank you for the reference point of what it would cost for a car.~k

Astral offers full day private guided tours from London. For a family of up to 6 people, prices start at £345. [email protected]

Have I tried it? Hell, no, I took the train!

What about just renting a car for the day yourselves? Wouldn;t that be much cheaper and simpler (and then you can stop, adapt as needed for the toddler)?

NYTraveler, none of us wish to drive! We're not crazy. Can't imagine trying to navigate the roads, driving on the opposite side, and having my daughter decide that she wants to scream at the top of her lungs because she sees a bus (or truck or other fun thing) go by. Too scary.
