Priceline and hotels for triple rooms

Has anyone had any luck finding a room to house three adults on Priceline? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Priceline only deals w/ doubles. If you need a triple you'll have to go some other route. What city are you talking about?

Priceline would be useless. If you turn up with 3 people they will either tell you the person can;t fir in the room - and then yuo have to look for a place - or they will charge extra (and perhaps put theperson on a cot) - in which case you don;t knowup fron how much you're paying.

Much better to look for a triple to begin with.

What city and price range do you want?

Or if this is truly three adults then you might consider simply getting two rooms (which might be nicer in any case).

My experience with priceline has been that the large hotels who participate don't take much notice of whether you have two or three people (so long as you are quiet & sober). You buy the room and the reservation doesn't specify number of people.

It does say that the room will accomodate two adults. You can request two beds at check in and it's a gamble whether you will get it or not. Chances are better if you check in early. In markets like NYC & London, where rooms are often small, odds are high that you will only get one bed. We've put 3 people in priceline rooms in other places, tho. Just be prepared to put one on the floor if it doesn't go your way...

Unlike in the US, where hotel rooms are often two Queen-sized beds or a King, in Europe, it's usually two twin-sized ones that you may put together.

Meaning, there's very little chance you have room for three without one sleeping on the floor.

LAWoman: That might work in the US (where many rooms have two large beds anyway) but it definitely wouldn't fly in most European hotels. Anyone using PL expecting to get a room adequate for three will likely be REALLY disappointed.

I've had numerous double rooms in europe - even in 4* hotels - in which there was no way you could fit another person - unless they were wiling to sleep in the tub. Also - no hotel will give you a third breakfst for 3 - and if they catch 3 in a room for 2 will either evict you or charge extra.

This is not a game you should play - cheating has the potential for way too many VERY awkward consequences.
