I'm looking into apartments right now for my sister/niece over Christmas. Couple of websites to check out are: www.guestinitaly.com and www.romesweethome.it. I've used the last one before to rent an apartment and was very satisfied with the service and quality of the apartment.

We used Real Rome and stayed in the Portico Reginella apartment. The location was incredible-I think we had to take a bus only once, and that was to the Vatican. There is an upstairs loft with 2 twin beds so the kids were by themselves and we had a bedroom in back. The kitchen was small, but it had everything we needed for modest reheating of leftovers.

By the way, I see you are new to Fodors. No need to post a question twice. Just click on your name (zia) wherever you see it on the page (after you've logged in) and it will bring up all your posts.
