Pre Booking Hotels a Must or Aug?
Time to ask the travelling sages another ?. Is it likely that we can meander along Trier and along the Mosel area and on into Hamburg with a car and find accomodations easily? We will have a car and like those happy surprises with being spontaneous but then again it will be early August.

It sounds like you'll be competing with about a million other vacationers. We tried to get hotel resies 4 months in advance for Bodensee a couple of Augusts ago - and gave up - were told we were just way too late.

traveling w/o bookings works in May or October -- but in August -- not a good idea at all.

Thanks nytraveler and janis. I have made resies. for 6 separate areas but I would like to leave another 3 open for those those..wow,lets stay here! moments but I'd better just keep lookin' and bookin'.
