Web-Sites to book hotels in French Country

Does anyone have any good recommendations for web-sites on which to book hotels/chateaus in the French country? I'm looking for alternatives to the usual suspects (i.e., Orbitz, Expedia, etc.)

Thanks in advance.

chateauxhotels.com is one of my favorites, also. These give good choices and descriptions, but may not have booking abilities except always directly, of course (which is often preferable):

www.avignon-et-provence.com
www.relaischateaux.fr
digital.f rance.com/hotels
www.silencehotel.fr
www.logis-de-france.com (these are a little lower level than some, mostly 2-3 star)
Excerpted from a previous post - - this one is an independent, I think, and not part of any of the marketing groups listed above.

======================

Author : Rex
Date: 12/20/2002, 09:36 pm
Message: Here's a suggestion:

www.chateaudejonvilliers.com

On my wanna-try-sometime-soon list.

Best wishes,

Rex

===================
< BR>and I agree with www.chateauxandcountry.com - - had a nice stay with one of their properties - - Longsard, in 1999. At the time, it was a "work in progress" (yet still terrific, in our room, in particular) of Olivier and his American wife Alex(andra) who acquired it in 1997. I'd love to hear how it looks today.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
