Prague...your favorite hotel

Hi. DH and I will be in Prague for 2 nights in September. We normally prefer small, charming properties over large ones. Can you recommend your favorite? For these 2 nights, money is no object. Of course, the next day, we turn back into pumpkins!

Thanks.

If indeed money is no object, then I'm sure another poster will chime in with some lovely hotel choices.

Speaking from my own experience, I had a very positive vacation rental experience with these folks: apartments-in-prague.org

We stayed in a very nice 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment in the so-called Residence Janska in Mala Strana. I should say that the accommodations, while charming, aren't luxury 5-star places. However, they are generally recently and tastefully renovated, clean, and well located apartments, where you do get your money's worth. They have several vacation rental locations, so choose wisely if you decide to go this route.

If a 5-star hotel is more you cup of tea for this trip, I'm sure someone will poke their head in this thread and give you some leads.

Have fun in Prague!

Thank you, Woyzeck. I do believe we are interested in a hotel for these 2 days, as we will be staying with friends at their home in Munich during the remainder of our trip.

I'm sort of drawn to this place:

Does anyone have any experience with this property?

Beautiful views from the Golden Well. We stayed at the Savic very close to Old Town Square, and I think I like its decor better.

The Golden Well is very close to the Castle complex where we spent two full days, but it's a fairly long walk to the sights on the other side of the river. Since you only have two nights (one full day), you'll have to be very selective about what you try to see, so I'd pick a hotel closest to those sights.

From GOlden Well to the Old Town Square - 20 minutes if that.
My favourite is Kempinski - great location, great service, even greater prices.

the Mandarin Oriental is new, and I'd love to try it, and not only because Thin suggests it.
A few years ago I stayed at the Four Seasons, and it has become my standard (and my family's standard) for luxury European hotels. It is medium-sized, you can have a view of the Prague Castle and the river, and the service was just beyond compare.
There was no detail that wasn't accounted for, from having one's shoes shined overnight, to having the desk staff immediately referring to us by name.
Not to mention a Michelin-starred restaurant on the premises

Thank you all. I say "money is no object" as I think that at least part of these two nights will be gifted to us. Plus, other than 1 night in CK, we won't have lodging costs on this trip because we are staying with friends. But, I must admit, looking at the tariffs at the Mandarin Oriental takes my breath away!

Continuing my research. All suggestions still gladly welcome!

Something new and exciting...for me! I'm watching some LuxuryLink.com auctions on Prague properties. They look like great deals. Will report back if I get the nerve to participate!

Well, I've booked the Golden Well (U Zlaté studně) and I'm so excited! They are tiny, only 19 rooms, and were sold out of all but their smallest rooms. I've asked for an upgrade (for the view) if one becomes available. The TA reviews are so good...I' just so excited! What a beautiful city Prague looks like!

I was in Prague two years ago. I stayed at the Aria in Mala Strana. It's fairly small, quiet and just lovely. I think you will like it. Not inexpensive, but worth it.

Have a great trip.
