We did a walking tour of the Jewish quarter, sad and very interesting, not long, I think two hours. So much depends on the guide, ours was excellent, booked through the hotel. Yet another example of why keeping notes is a good idea because I don't have his details.

Two years ago, we did a PragueWalkers tour of the Jewish District with Tereza as our guide...she was excellent, personable and very informative, full of personal stories (her grandmother was an Auschswitz survivor) The Jewish District is fascinating and very sobering, as you can imagine. If that is an interest of yours, don't miss a trip to Terezin, just outside the city. We also used Praguewalkers for that tour. Enjoy this most beautiful city!!!

While in Prague you might also look into doing a tour with Taste of Prague. Jan and company does an excellent small group (6 max) tour of traditional food and drink places, along with a delightful commentary. This was one of the highlights of our time in Prague!!

I took the WHITTMAN TOUR in Prague Jewish section.
Our guide was wonderful.
My trip was several years ago, but our guide was a woman that was part of the Jewish Community of Prague & her family lived in Prague for several generations. It consisted of several of the synagogues, the old Jewish Cemetery in Prague with all the gravestones from so many years.
By the way....... The area where the tour takes place was one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of Prague (In my opinion)with interesting buildings, fabulous restaurants, small boutiques, etc.) If you go on the Whittman Tour, plan on having a nice lunch in that area.
