Prague or Barcelona--Remember??
Sometime ago I requested help in deciding whether to visit Prague or Barcelona, together with someone with mobility problems. Received conflicting advice and decided on Prague and with no regrets. Thank you all for your opinions and I will go to Barcelona one day thought I am ready tomorrow to return to Prague!

Day One; After a late arrival at 2am in Hotel Old Town Ibis, we awoke in our lovely warm rooms and after an ample breakfast wandered outside and within two minutes the Powder Tower and beautiful Municipal Hall were in front of us. On the spur of the moment we jumped onto a Grand City Tour to see all the highlights of Prague which suited the less mobile, and we had a lovely guide who had a lilting accent which was fascinating. The tour included a walk around the Castle area, hot cocolate at one of the palaces and then we parted from our guide at "thee Clock". Old Town Square was magical for us with its Xmas markets, fragrances of seasonal cookies and mulled wine, hot rum and Christmas Carols.

Day One cont: By now it was almost 3pm and after exploring Old Town Square and sampling various cookies etc, we strolled back to our hotel to rest before setting out for the evening.
Day Two; The Jewish quarter- Spanish,Meisler,Pinchas, Old/New synagogues and Old Cemetry. All impressive, beautiful.
Ate a beautiful apple strudel at Cafe Dolce Vita in the Jewish Quarter. (I will go back)
Evening: to the Wow Experience- take your raincoat!- and then dinner in the Mustique restaurant-where we were served by a very hyperactive but pleasant waiter. My husband had Cz food, I ate Thai food and my conservative 16 year old daughter -chicken scnitzel. Excellent food- later a stroll to the Charles bridge by night and again some wine in the old Town Square, together with carol singers and wonderful aromas.

Day Three: Our last day- yes a short break - put our luggage into hotel storage , wandered down to the Haveclsa Market and one more visit to the clock which we finally caught on the hour! Then back to our hotel from where we were collected for a 6 hour tour to Kutna Hora-yes we could do it cheaper by ourselves- but remember we have mobility problem, any way from noon untill six pm we visited the Ossuary- really something- St. Barbaras, the mint and a general stroll around this beautiful town.
One disappointment- our guide spent most of the trip talking to the bus driver unlike our first tour with the musical guide. Different tour company.

The end: Back to Prague by 6;30 dinner at Marie Therese - an underground restaurant- last minute shopping and back to the hotel for our trip to the airport.
Loved Prague. Was it cold- It was really cold-but we loved the atmosphere, the people were lovely - no bad experiences and while I didn't see all that was on my list the atmosphere, the hot chocolate, the outside heated coffee bars and the fragrances are still with me Prague is Special- no doubt.
