Prague Old Town Hotel
My adult daughter and I are looking for a hotel in Prague for the third week in June. I've looked on line at the Central, the Grand Majestic Plaza, and the Casa Marcello, with prices running from ~$375 to $500 (U.S.) for four nights. Is anyone familiar with one of these, or do you have other recommendations?

We recommend this to anyone asking about Prague hotels..have used it twice, daughter and family once. Smack on the Charles Bridge...easy walk to Old Town and Mala Strana. Be sure to get a bridge view room. Good resto also.

Here are some pics, showing the hotel and other scenes...views of the bridge are from the room. I posted these on another thread looking for lodgings in Prague.

During one of our trips to Prague, we also stayed at The Three Ostriches. Very good location, to either the Old Town or the castle. For Prague information www.inyourpocket.com/czech_republic/Prague

Here is where I stayed in the Old Town:
www.uzlatestudny.cz
It is a lovely place two blocks straight down from the Charles Bridge on the Old Town side.
I rented the suite for the week because it was only a few dollars more per day than the nice large rooms.
When you go to the website , Click on Photo Gallery to view the rooms.
That girl at the desk in the pink blouse is the same one that greeted me when I arrived !
Re the posting by tower:
I paid to climb the Charles Bridge tower on the Lesser Town side, (Lesser Quarter or Little Quarter side).
When I climbed up inside the tower I was looking down on
the Three Ostriches Hotel.
In fact if I fell out from the Charles Bridge Tower I would have landed almost at the front door of the Three Ostriches !!! ( I said almost
)
The Three Ostriches is a nice location, you are just a wee bit below the Charles Bridge.
If you get a room with the Charles Bridge view and of course view of the Old Town Buildings...you might not want to leave your room
However if you do not or cannot get a Charles Bridge view ,but are on the other side ...then don't worry, your view is the Prague castle perched on the hill.
tower gave you a hotel with a great location.

We stayed at the Hotel U Tri Bubnu (Hotel of the three drums), which is right around the corner from the Old Town square. It was a great location and a pretty comfortable hotel. I think we paid the equivalent of about US$100/night.

We stayed here, which is right in the Old Town:

It's a restaurant on the ground floor with rooms behind, so nice and quiet while being central. We were there about 4 years ago, in November, and paid 88 euro, so June would be more expensive. We had to change our onward flight at the last minute so ended up staying the extra night in a different room and both rooms were fine. Breakfast was nice too, served in the restaurant.
