Prague Hilton
Has anyone stayed there? Is this hotel too far away from major sights, restaurants, and other attractions? Can one comfortably walk from the hotel to the Charles Bridge, e.g.?

Hi Rudy- the Prague Hilton is actually not very convenient. It is on the outskirts and would require some sort of public transportation. It would be quite a walk to the Charles Bridge. I would recommend the Marriott which is much more centrally located (nicer as well) or, if your budget allows, the Four Seasons, which I believe reopens in July after the floods.

I agree the Hilton is in a terrible location.. The nearest metro stop is Florenc and I'm not sure how easy that is to get to (or that you'd want to be walking around that area at night)--it's not to terribly far as a measure of distance (maybe 1/4 mile), but it's an area with lots of big major highways and roads. I think you might want a taxi or private driver a lot if you stayed at the Hilton.

The Intercontinental is in a more central and convenient location, although it's not the greatest, even then, from my perspective. It's close to the river (really a big ugly modern building) and maybe about 4-5 blocks from a metro stop. There is a tram that runs down the street it's on, also. It's okay, but its immediate area is not particularly charming, either.

Yea, I know this is a late response. We stayed at the Prague Renaissanace a few years back and found the property to be excellent, the service excellent and the location excellent. Admittedly I'm a Marriott fan with over 700,000 points still in my account, but we'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
