Prague for a week or Vienna as well

Trying to decide between spending the entire time in Prague or adding Vienna as well. When you say week you have to allow the flight time in as well so it would actually be 6 nights. Than the travel day between the 2 cities (I know it doesn't take the entire day). How long is it between the two cities? If we do spend the entire time in Prague would we get bored?. Are there any must see day trips out of Prague? We tend to like to see everything . Thanks

I was in Prague for 6 days with one day trip and thought it was too much time. You could do a day trip or 2 and spend 4 days in Prague. I wouldn't recommend the trip to Karlstejn Castle which is what I did. If I had it to do again I would see Czesky Krumlov, Telc, Kutna Hora.

It's 5 hours to Vienna plus time getting to and from the train stations so I don't think both cities would work with 6 days, especially if you say you like to see everything.

Stay in the Czech Republic and see something outside Prague.

6 days won't be enough for both cities. If your goal is see Prague, I second adrienne's suggestion on doing 1-2 day trips from Prague.

I have been to Vienna twice: first time for 3.5 days, second time for 5.5 days, and I still barely scratched the surface.

I also recommend staying in the CR and visiting a town(s) outside Prague.

Do you have a visit to Terezin on your itinerary?

I tend to agree. If you had 7 full days, I'd seriously consider 3 days in each with a travel day in between. But I think 6 is pushing it and you've got some good options mentioned above.

Thanks everyone for your input. Its been settled we will just stay in Prage. Ira as this is a last minute trip we have not made any itinerary. I do know for a day trip I do want to go to Czesky Krumlov. Thanks for the suggestion of Terezin, I will be looking intothat. Any suggestions "off the beaten path" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
