Thanks.

I used http://www.prague-airport-shuttle.com/ourservice.htm a few years ago.

Service exactly as described, no problems.

I've used Mike's chauffeur service and thought it was great.

If you haven't got too much luggage, you could use public transport. A 119 bus will take you from right outside the terminal to the end of the metro line and the metro will take you into town - all for 26 crowns, just over a dollar. A taxi will cost you at least 20 times as much.

Many hotels will arrange for a car and driver to mmet you at the airport for very little more than a taxi.

I have used Prague Airport shuttle on several occasions and cannot fault them,if i am trvelling alone just for a couple of days then i have used the Airport express Bus,takes you to Hlavni ,it is not brilliant and has no luggage space but if you are staying amywhere near Hlavni or near any metro stop then you can use this only cost 50czk.

I have on one occassion taken the 100 bus to Zilcin and the metro from there, found this quicker than the airport bus.the 119 to Dejvicka would give a similar option.
I would only use the public transport option if you are confident on where you are staying and are travelling light, a load of luggage and 2 or more of you then use one of the shuttle services for a stress free start to your Prague trip.

Sounds like you're looking to transfer from the airport to the city, but in case anyone was wanting to transfer from the airport to further outlying areas and towns, the Student Agency bus service is cheap and excellent. Clean modern buses, efficient and on time, and they have free movies and sell light snacks on board.

As it happens I ended up taking a taxi from the airport and public transit (metro + bus) back to the airport on my return.

This trip took place in 2007 (see date of my original post) and the thread was re-started by somebody shilling for a shuttle/car service (the post upthread that Fodor's removed). The public transit option was easy. I took the cab inbound because my flight was delayed and somebody was waiting for me.

Thanks again for all the helpful Fodorites out there.

Must be more obsevant in future.
The public Transport in Prague is very very good and very cheap. The AE bus that i mention is a recent addition to the services and is operated by the train company and not the local transport company. It does need a lot of improving and i think this will happen but slowly unless some real investment is made in it.

We have just booked with www.prague-airport-shuttle.com our hotel Corinthia wanted CZK 800 and they charge just CZK 550 and since we are arriving late we do not want to take public transport. I will let you know how it turns out! Does anyone know of any restaurants open late near this hotel?

Is advertising allowed on this forum? Eve_denning is doing just that, on all possible forums....do not use bohemian prague airport transfers - they are absolutely awful!

well I have also used http://www.prague-airport-shuttle.com/ several times and cannot fault them, and I will be using the again on my next trip in May.
BTW the Corithia hotel is not to bad to get to by public transport as it is right beside a metro station(Vysehrad).

I don,t know much by the hotel but the hotel itself has some good returants within it,the Beer and Bowling ( yeah its a bowling alley) place I have been to a couple of times and does the best steak sandwich i have ever had.

We used http://www.prague-airport-shuttle.com last September, I can not say enough good things about them. Very prompt, friendly driver, clean car. We are travelers who always use public transport so a service was new for us and we could not have been more pleased! We were also picked up exactly as promised for our return to the airport.

Agree with unclegus and Margo - www.prague-airport-shuttle.com is one of the best and most reliable.
Of course poor old Eve Denning, pretended to be from berlin and taking a private transfer to Botel Albatros...would you believe it and now that silly Bohemian-prague-airport website includes this thread as their recommendation (after they deleted that other website thread - which was self advertising just like Eve's posting is here.
Ignore them entirely, don't even think of booking with them.

We have just returned from a trip in Prague - we have used www.bohemia-prague-airport-transfers.com - I would like to point out the discounted price (when booking return) for GBP 32,- only for the first calss service (met a driver on arrival, got all informations, our transport also arrived on time for the return journey). We will use its service again as well as recommend to others. Chris
