prague airport and other information
Hello
I will be in Parague at the end of June with my son (20 yr old) for 24 hours stop to my next destination. I am arriving at 7 am and departing the next morning at 7 am
I would like to know
1. is there place to lock big luggage in the airport ? is it safe?
2. Is it a big aiport with places one can lay down for few hours (comfortable seats)? is it safe ?
3. How do you get from the airport to the center of town, tourist area (beside taxis)
4. Is there a hotel right by the airport ?
5.I am contemplating whether to reserve a hotel or not since the morning flight is at 7 am and I have probably to be there at 5 am
any suggestions?
many thanks

Left bikes there last time so yes to luguage sotre
The place is very safe
Lay down (well the czechs are pretty well behaved) so not really fair on them, but yes there are chairs.
As you come out of arrivals, go left and pick up cash from the ATMs then go right to the tourist info and buy tram tickets (one foe a day or a week is best)
Yes book a hotel (do it now as the place gets busy)
Not sure about airport hotel probably check the airport web site

I don't know about laying down on seats, I've never seen that and you often cannot lay down on seats with arms.
It is a major international airport, although thankfully not as big as some of the huge ones, so it will have hotels near it. The closest ones are the usual big business hotels, so they won't be super cheap. A couple right at the airport are Ramada, Courtyard by Marriott and Hotel Tranzit.

As for public transit to the town center, you can catch a bus in front of the terminal that will take you to the subway, and from there you can access the downtown. Public transit in Prague is excellent and inexpensive.
Were I you I would book a hotel, especially as it sounds as if you'll be arriving in Prague via a transatlantic long-haul flight (given your 7 AM arrival) and will likely be tired and very much in want of a shower before continuing on. And you won't have to leave your luggage at the airport.

The airport is under a 30 minute drive to Prague Center so it is questionable if you will save much time by staying at an airport hotel. There will not be any traffic to speak of at the time you need to arrive for your outbound flight. Our taxi made it from Kampa Island that is located at the Charles Bridge (and a great place to stay) to the airport in about 20 minutes at that time of day. You will want a taxi for your early AM flight (only use AAA taxi or City Taxi) or a car arranged by your hotel. Plan on about $35 one way.

I would DEFINITELY get a room in Prague for the night. I think missing out on seeing such a wonderful city would be a misfortune.
A early morning taxi to the airport would take only about 25 minutes, if that. I have left a hotel in Prague at 6 AM for a flight.
