Prado's Mona Lisa has returned to Madrid

Prado's Mona Lisa, painted in the workshop of Leonardo, has returned to Madrid after Paris and tentatively will be exhibited in the room 47, near the Transfiguration by Raphael.

Revulgo is a proud Spaniard and is touting the exhibition. The Prado does well on its own without such an attraction and holds works in its permanent collection that I beleive are more significant than La Giocanda.

Very interesting, Revulgo, thank you. The "before" and "after" of the painting were incredible. I kinda liked the before better. How about you?

Did you guys read the entire article? It was more about the study of the painting than touting the Prado.

TD - I'm with you on this. I had no idea that such a work existed and were I thinking of going to Madrid I' certainly want to see it. several years ago we were lucky enough to catch a major leonardo exhibition at the Uffizi and their analysis of the painting of the virgin and St. Anne was fascinating.

they also talked about the background to the Mona Lisa which the more you look at it, the weirder it gets! [this Prado version doesn't seem to have quite the same problems]

Revulgo - thank you for posting this and "drawing" it to our attention.

Personally speaking, I've been to the Prado many times. Every time I return to Madrid, I go to this museuem.

I just didn't understand where you were coming from.
