Sara- email [email protected] --she runs a service and can take you to the outlets-she lives in FLorence- also she can tell you exactly where they are-- <BR>When we were there last month, we ran into people who had been and they said it's like a bad day at Loehmanns--most of the stuff was very badly damaged..And with the USD so good, you can get a good deal at the Gucci and Prada stores in Florence- Good luck

Wondering if you know what the price difference is between shoes in Florence at the Prada store and here in the US. I looked at some shoes last week and they are about $300 or so here. Since we are leaving for Italy this week I didn't want to buy anything and figured I could get them there. Any idea as to the prices there?

The Gucci outlet is about a 20 minutes walk from the train station of Rignano sull'Arno. You need to cross the Arno using the footbtidge and turn right when you reach the main road. Slightly closer - about a 10/15 minute walk is the new Fendi outlet with the one of Dolce & Gabbana just beyond. From the station go towards the river and head in the direction of Figline/Incisa with the river on your left and the railway line on your right.

There's a great outlet mall in Switzerland near Lugano. It's called Fox Town. The first time I went it was so boring and empty, you could shoot a canon off and not hit anybody. I went again last October - WOW! They built a casino next door, and now have a lot of nice stores (Valentino, Gucci, Prada, Versace, Frette, etc.)
