Take the SITA bus to Amalfi and then take another smaller SITA bus to the hilltop town of Ravello.WWW.sita-0n-line.it

Take a boat trip with Salvatore e Gennora (spelling?) to Capri. They are tour operators who are based at the dock in Positano.

Have dinner at IL RITROVO in Montepertuso. Call ahead because many of these restaurants will arrange roundtrip transportation for guests.

If you feel really ambitious, have lunch at one of the restaurants in Montepertuso, then hike back down to Positano on the footpath that begins in back of the church in the main square.

Have a drink or preferably dinner at Hotel Poseidon. The restaurant terrace has a wonderful perch above town, and the twinkling lights at night are romantic and unforgettable-- as is the food!

Take a day trip to Capri and hike along the coast! Amazing! We loved Capri so much we went there two days from Positano. I recommend a wonderful dinner with excellent service and amazing view at La Sponda. Pricey but worth it for a memorable meal! If you want something cozy and romantic - make reservations on the balcony at Caffe Positano for dinner. Reasonable price - but charming. There are two small balconies - each with a single table for two outside overlooking the coast. Simply charming for a quiet dinner for two.

Hi

Try to get to Pompeii - awesome! Easy from Positano. Take a local bus to Sorrento. This stops right outside the train station that takes you to Pompeii (just near the entrance of this site). We went on a Saturday so the bus was crowded. Though bearable it may pay you to go on a weekday or take a taxi to Sorrento.

Have fun!

When will you be there? Just curious, because Ms. Go and I will be there with our daughter for a week in June.

Go for a pre-dinner cocktail at the Champagne Bar at Le Sirenuse hotel. A wonderful view of Positano from this terrace, and a very cool spot to have a belini.

Thanks for asking this adoreroma... I'm going in June (like the previous poster) and these tips are great! If you are leaving later in the year, I'll have a trip report with some ideas after I get back.
