Hi, My borfriend and I are planning our first trip to Paris for a week in late October. We’ve narrowed it down to three hotels in our price range (around $200 CDN) each with pros and cons.

1. St Thomas d'Aquin: 120e, convenient location, small rooms, not a lot of reviews

2. Langlois: 110e, larger rooms, great reviews, location not as convenient

4. Jardins d’Eiffel: coworker recently stayed here and loved it, convenient location, v. mixed reviews

As with most everyone, we are looking for a clean, charming hotel preferably with non-smoking rooms and we’re not keen on the florals (hence our first two choices).

We’re leaning towards St Thomas d'Aquin but thought I’d check the opinions of others who’ve been to Paris before, and maybe there’s another hotel we should be considering?

The Thomas d'Aquin was recently renovated, and has several reviews on Tripadvisor. There is someone who posted here on Fodors in the past few months who had stayed there post-renovation and really liked it.

I think the Jardin d'Eiffel has a mix of renovated and non-renovated rooms according to a recent post on TA...

Thanks, Travelnut. It's actually the recent review on here that convinced me St. Thomas d'Aquin would be a good choice since our tastes seem to be similar.

We stayed at the St. Thomas d'Aquin a couple of years ago when our usual hotel was full. A friend who used to be a travel agent recommended it and said a lot of his customers were very pleased with the hotel. It is a very nice little hotel in a wonderful location. I think you will be happy with your choice.
