We have stayed in both the Albergo del Senato and the Eden Roc and loved the ambienc and the location of both. At the ER we had a suite with a hot tub on the balcony...divine! and at the DEl Senato room 204 which has the balcony overlooking the Pantheon..wonderful. We are off to Venice on thursday and after much research have booked the Hotel Columbina(although La Calcina would have been my first choice if available!)

Thanks all for all the great reviews of the Albergo del Senato. We ended up booking the it. Your input really help us make a decision. Did you have standard rooms or a junior suite. I need two rooms. One double and one triple, but they told me the triple room would be in the back of the hotel, so I asked if they could do a junior suite in the front of the hotel, and they said yes. It's only about 40 Euros more, so I think it's worth it. Hopefully.

I'm still deciding on Positano. I am pretty sure I'm going with the Eden Roc, but I do like the location of the Palazzo Murat or Buca Bacco. So I'm still deciding on that.

You guys should have left earlier and joined us in Rome, Positano and Venice. Bad planning on our part. We should have thought of it ahead of time. Oh well, I'll see you Sicily!!!

I have not seen a trip report from you but I am wondering where you ended up staying in Positano and Rome. Did you go with the Eden Roc and the del Senato? I did see a post from you on another thread that you had a great time but you did not mention where you stayed. Just curious!!!!!

Oh wow, I can't believe it's been 6 months, and I still have not written a trip report. We eneded up staying at the Algergo del Senator in Rome, Buca di Bacco in Positano, and Locanda Orseolo in Venice.

I will try to put together a trip report this week. It is long overdue!

I had almost given up on your trip report but I can certainly understand how time flies. Can't wait for your report.......
