Hi, I have checked them all out - over 20 of them - I believe I went to Karen Brown's website...I can't recall at this point as I have been to so many sites (forgot to bookmark!!). I know my first pick, Villa Rosa, was all booked up. As for the Marincanto, I have been in touch with them and think I will book - I asked about a weekly rate - 10% reduction and then another 10% if I pay in cash...20% discount is pretty good.
Good luck

I stayed at the Marincanto Hotel a couple of years ago. The location is geat as it is only a very short walk to the "Sponda" bus stop for buses to Sorrento, Amalfi etc. The view from the rooms is fantastic, the rooms are large and all have balconies, and CNN tv.
http://www.venere.it/campania/positano/marincanto/eng.htm

Larry J

Davis- I don't know how familiar you are with Positano but you might want to consider basing yourself at least part of your Amalfi Coast visit at other places such as Sorrento. I can't imagine spending 8 nights in Positano as there just isn't that much to do there and you are a long way from much of anyplace else. Most people base at Sorrento and daytrip to Positano, Amalfi, Atrani, Ravello, take a trip to Pompeii etc. I spent just one night there myself. Sorrento has so much more to offer as you can take the train to Pompeii (30 minutes), ferry to Capri (20 minutes) ferry to Ischia, SITA bus to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello etc. Just my opinion and maybe none of my business but have a great time whatever you decide.

Larry J
