Positano Hotel--Which Bus Stop?

We will be travelling by CITA bus from Sorrento to Positano, and will be staying at Casa Albertina (Via della Tavolozza 3). There seems to be a couple of bus stops -- we want to make sure we get off at the right one so we don't have to climb any more stairs than we need to...Thanks!

Coming from Sorrento there are 2 bus stops for Positano. The first is Chiesa and the second is Sponda. Get off at Sponda. Sponda is the closest to town, the sea and all the hotels. Don't worry about climbing steps when you arrive since it is all downhill from both bus stops.

HI A,

Please do a trip report when you return! I had originally thought to stay at Casa Albertina (in 'O5), but changed my mind and stayed Praiano instead. Curious to hear your impressions, it sounded like a great place.

Buon viaggio!

Take the ferry when you leave and you will never have to schlepp your bags up hill.

Have a great time.

Casa Albertina is across the "valley" from the Sponda bus stop--below Villa Franca and above Covo dei Saraceni. That's quite a way from the Sponda stop. You might consider getting off the SITA bus at Chiesa Nuova and taking the internal (orange) bus down from there. I'd probably check with the hotel to see what they recommend.

thank you ms_go. we have been having the hardest time trying to get an accurate fix on the street map of positano. it does seem that you might create a lot of unwanted exercise if you are deposited at the wrong place...

Hi Ab - I'd second Ms Go's suggestion unless you want a long walk - get off at Chiesa Nuova/ Bar Internazionale.

The orange bus from Chiesa Nuova would be easy enough and save you walking. They run about every 20 mins. Just walk 10m around the corner from the Sita Bus stop.

Alternatively there is sometimes a taxi waiting at that junction.

Here's a map:

Casa Albertina

Hope this helps ...
