portugal over christmas and nye
we had such a great trip in andalucia for Christmas 2022 with fantastic weather too. thinking of portugal for Christmas 2023. Kids will be 20 and 22. Most likely last holiday trip together bc daughter will graduate next May.
We could leave Dec 17 and return Jan 3 so 16/17 days there. In and out of Lisbon. Need to book quickly bc good premium economy fares now.
Not sure where to go with weahter concerns. Porto could be cold and rainy. Duero Valley seems a no.
I know we'd want to be in a larger city for Christmas Eve and Day and NYE and Day. So Lisbon, Porto, Algarve (NYE) or Madiera (NYE) seem to fit the bill. Prefer public transportation but seems like I'd need to rent a care in Algarve and Madiera.
Would love to hear from you, especially if you have travelled during this time. thanks all.

plambers,
I vote for Lisbon and Cascais, having been to both over the holiday season. I´ve also spent NYE with my parents in Madeira, but i wouldn't go to the Algarve, which will be very, very quiet as it's off season. I think that Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais would be perfect. You can also add a day trip or two.

Maribel: plambers' trip is long over. (it was last Christmas) The thread was topped by macswim asking for help with their own trip

Yes, of course, you´re correct, as usual.
I failed to check the date of plamber's post...been off my game after a sabbatical.
Note to self---always check the date of the OP's first posting before responding. Duh!
