Portugal Itinerary --any advice??

Working on my Portugal itinerary for September 2023 trip..never been there so wondering if I have all of the Must sees below or if some of these places don't warrant a visit--looking at 14 days in Portugal and then onto Spain--we are a senior couple who like to wander the towns and absorb the local vibes, not into museums unless it is a really GOOD one, aren't foodies and don't drink..I have been reading trip reports on Fodor's and have seen Evora listed several times..am wondering if this is a day trip from Lisbon or if there is enough to see to spend a night or 2.. Came across Monsaraz, Vila Vicosa and Arraiolos in my research and see they are fairly close to Evora...worth a visit???
Porto (4 nights) Porto (car rental) to Coimbra to Alcobaca to Nazare -stay in Nazare Nazare to Batalha to Fatima (night in Nazare) Nazare to Obidos to Evora ????Lisbon return car 1day trip to Belem & Cascais /another Day trip to Sintra 5 or 6 nights???

Thanks for any advice you can give

We spent three nights in Evora and that was one too many. The best bits of Evora for me were the Igreja da Sao Francisco, the Convent and Church of Sao Francisco, best known for the Chapel of Bones, and the Sé Catedral de Évora, both easily done in one day. Had we had a car we'd probably have gone to Monsaraz the second day.

We also spent three nights in Sintra, and would have been hard pressed to do what we did in a day, but many people do.

Belem is a part of Lisbon and a must see! TheJeronimos Monastery is an architectural gem. Don’t miss it.
The only other suggestion is that you shouldn’t stay in Nazare, a touristy beach resort. We stopped by, had lunch, and left town. Stay in another town in that area but not in Obidos.

We stayed in Nazaré, in the old town behind the beach front. The advantage of it being a fairly large resort town is that it has quite a few restaurants to choose from. We rented a very small house and were given a list of recommended restaurants.

How do you plan to travel? All the town you mention beyond Evora can be more easily visited by car. The same applies if you decided to use Nazaré as a base to see Obidos, Alcobaça, etc.

Michael-- thanks for sharing your photos as I wasn't sure if those places were something to see..will be renting a car since it is so time consuming to get to all of the places depending on trains/buses...seems like Nazare is a good home base for Alcobaca, Fatima, and Batalha..coming from California we always appreciate a good beach!!

You could also look at Peniche, also on the Costa da Prata (Silver Coast), another surfer haven. It´s a jumping point for the Ilhas Berlengas nature reserve. Peniche has a number of airbnbs and other inexpensive lodging (B&Bs) that attract the surfing crowd.
But you may not see the big waves at Peniche or Nazaré in September. Usually the season runs from October to March and very unpredictable.

From Evora, the white fortress town of Monsaraz with castle and great views of the Alqueva reservoir is very worthy of your time, as is the marble town of Estremoz, with castle-Pousada atop the town (I've stayed there) along with the many megalithic sites (dolmens, cromlechs, scattered all around the countryside) if you have a car. Market day (local handicrafts) in Estremoz is Saturday morning on the main square.

Vila Viçosa is the Alentejo's other marble town with a Pousada and the Palace of the Braganzas that one can visit on a guided tour.

Arraiolos is Alentejo's carpet town, the hand-knotted (and expensive!) wool rugs that adorn the floors of many Portuguese manor homes. Iit also has a pretty Pousada, as does Evora, where I've stayed, but it lacks other places of interest other than the many carpet shops and the empty castle atop the hill and the beautiful blue and white tiled chapel of the Pousada, which one can visit and photograph without staying there.
Castles galore in the Alentejo region.
