Poland - help offered

If you're looking for accommodation in any part of Poland or just need any information or translation before visiting the country I'm most happy to help you.

I'm afraid you've jumped to the wrong conclusion. I'm already helping people in their itineraries in this forum.

And I'm not the owner of any villa, pension or a hotel. You might have thought so looking at my e-mail address.

from your other thread offering specific services - this most certainly looks like an advertisement - even if you don't own any of the properties yourself. Despite "I'm already helping people in their itineraries in this forum." - and I think "people" is incorrect since I see only one person who has responded to your sales pitch.

Advertising isn't allowed on here . . .

If you really are just an helpful person and not getting money for your help - it would be better to answer threads about Poland w/o asking them to contact you by e-mail.

I may be interested in translation service or help getting a hotel. Do you charge a fee for either of those services?

I don't take any fees for translation which could help you in visiting my country. If I can recommend any hotel, pension in the area where you go I also don't charge for it. That would be stupid, wouldn't it? I would ask for a small fee only when you ask me for looking for accommodation and book it for you. The fee would be for time spent on looking for the right lodgings and phone calls which I make asking if the place is free for the time when you want to go there.
As I've already written most of accommodation adverts especially in small towns are in Polish.
Anyway, if you need any help with translation or recommendation feel free to write to me. I might not be able to answer your requests immediately because I've got a little baby and free time usually at night but will do my best to help you. Please, write me e-mails if you have any questions - I check my mail every day.

"I would ask for a small fee only when you ask me for looking for accommodation and book it for you. " You are charging - ergo you are advertising.

If you want to stay long on Fodor's w/o being nuked by the editors, it would much, MUCH better if you stuck to just answering questions on the forum. Making folks e-mail you to get help is a real red flag.

Perhaps you don't understand what advertising is in English. It isn't just called advertising if you are the owner of a hotel. Any business or service you run where you earn money, and then are promoting that business, is an advertisement. You are obviously a business as you charge money for some things, and that's why you are asking people to email you. That is called advertising.

Really, your email and name is a dead giveaway, no one but a business would have that name. Helping people with their itineraries is irrelevant and has nothing to do with whether you are advertising or a business. You think that puts some halo or magic aura around you?

I think we can courteously discourage potential advertisers who were born in formerly communistic countries, and hence may be unaware of the niceties and social norms of our capitalistic and commercial world. If the poster were French or Italian, I'd be less tolerant.
I'd suggest that Miss Polish Lodging look into starting a website with that service. She'd get lots more business than she would thru this forum. She could probably find a fellow Pole with basic computer knowledge to assist, although as I recall there's a Microsoft product for about $100 that an amateur could utilize to create a website. As she alludes, there's a market and need, since many non-hotel accomodation sites are not in English, but may offer nevertheless offer suitable lodging. So she's on the right track; Fodor's is just the wrong place.

Thank you very much for all yor e-mails. I especially liked the one written by tomboy. Honestly, I entirely agree with you and what you've suggested I'd already created - a website. It hasn't been advertised in this forum and you won't find it by writing 'Polish lodgings' in the search engine.
As you can see my e-mail address is no longer visible. You're absolutely right - I shouldn't have done it. On the other hand, I wonder why did they put an option "Display your e-mail address" in Profile? Why none of you uses it? I'm just curious, I'm not going to display my e-mail again.
Anyway, if you need any information about Poland I'll try to help you.
