Please critique my Norway itinerary
My husband and I are going to Norway for 3 weeks in late August/early September. Our 1 year old daughter (who will be about 17 months by then!) will be coming with us. I have recently started putting together an itinerary for our trip. I would really appreciate any input - bearing in mind that we do not want the trip to be too fast-paced as we'll have a toddler with us who needs a daily nap!
day 1 – fly to Oslo
days 2 & 3 – Oslo
day 4 - start Norway in a Nutshell, overnight in Flam
day 5 – trip on Naeroyfjord ,Sognefjord and overnight in Gudvangen
day 6 – Gudvangen to Bergen
days 7 & 8– Bergen
day 9 – Hardanger in a Nutshell overnight in Eisfjord
day 10 – Eisfjord back to Bergen
day 11 – boat to Stavanger
days 12 & 13 – Stavanger (including trip to pulpit rock)
day 14 – fly from Stavanger to Alesund
days 15 & 16 – Alesund (including trip to Geirangerfjord)
day 17- fly to Trondheim
day 18 - Trondheim
day 19 – fly to Oslo
day 20 - perhaps daytrip to Heddal Stave Church in Notodden
day 21 – home
Thanks in advance!

we wanted to go to pulpit rock
really really did
unfortunately we have not the time to spare to get down that far south
but i wish you a wonderful time
i dont know that id be going with a little child though
have you seen the sort of walk it is?
apparently it is not the easiest of walks so if youre carrying her i hope youre all really in good condition
it can also get foggy up there ( i was glad to have read that - to soften the blow of my disappointment of not having a crack at it)
if you google it, im sure you will find the site where a local gives you direction on how to get to the rock
safe trip you guys
hope the weather behaves for you and that you bring back loads of wonderful memories and a great trip report to boot!

Thanks very much. Yes, we are both quite fit and have read a bit about the walk. We'll be carrying her in a backpack-type frame so hopefully will be OK. We can share the load and take a rest if we need to - she is getting heavy these days!!
Otherwise, if we decide not to do it, I believe you can do a boat trip and see it from below - that might be a better option for us!
Thank you!

yes there is always the fjord trip if you decide to opt out
one thing about the flying
talk to your doctor about what you can do should your little girl get problems with her ears
so many times on the short trips you hear the poor babies beside themselves because they cant pop their ears and the pain is awful, if you have ever had the problem yourself youll know what agony it is
i see youre taking a few of these short flying trips so just see what can be done to help your little one should she start to suffer
in the meantime do a search here for all the old threads on norway

Thanks - she has already been on a number of flights without any difficulty with her ears. Fingers crossed she will be OK again. She does use a soother so I believe that should help if we let her suck it during take off and landing.
