Places to stay in Venices?
Hi Folks:
I couldn't figure out how to edit my original message. Thanks to everyone for responding and this time I will include my budget as suggested by lots of people! I am looking to try to keep it around $100 or less per night. Is that doable in Venice, Florence, Rome and Sorrento?

Try HOTEL LA FORCOLA (www.laforcola.com)
I have been there last august 2002 and the price per room was 98 euros per night breakfast included. It depends on the period though. It is near Santa Lucia train station, walking distance from S. Marco (15 minutes walking leisurely) and the ferry stop is called San Marcuola, situated 200 mt from the hotel. Small, clean and lovely. Buffet breakfast, not continental.

For Venice: Pensione La Calcina
www.lacalcina.com
Prices vary by season and by room type (single, double, view, no view, etc.). It's a lovely 3-star hotel on the Guidecca canal.
